A speech of mild importance
Hey guys. Peregrine here. Vamparagon got me in as a guest speaker to talk to you.
Yeah. I didn't realize I was qualified either.
A few people at cons have been taking them pretty seriously, and there's nothing wrong with taking something seriously, but there comes a time when you take it seriously to the point where it stops being fun. The point to cons is having fun, so people who get angry when they lose or whatever are just ruining the experience for themselves, and in the case of team events where they get angry at their teammates, ruining it for everyone on their team as well.
What it all comes down to is that you focus more on having fun and less on winning. Sure, points are nice and all, but the clan's not about points. It's about people and having fun playing AQW with people, so getting yourself worked up is just detrimental to what TR is really about. Take me for example. I haven't finished a race EVER (we're not counting that one time in Simon Says), and I take a pink umbrella to fashion contests more often than not. It's just because I find it funnier when my vampire has a pink umbrella than a dagger.
It's not because I'm EXTREMELY bad at fashion. I do it on purpose. Seriously.
Seriously.
But enough about my pink umbrella. Before I close off, I want to make sure no one got me wrong here. I'm not saying everyone sucks at having fun and everyone is filled with EXTREME ANGER. I'm just saying that Vamparagon told me there's a select few individuals who make an overly big deal about cons and to do something about that before the con environment gets overly stressful. Because as we all know, stress is simply not quite as fun as cons. I'm also not saying TR or cons are going downhill, by the way. I like TR. If anything, TR's getting better all the time.
Time for a closing note.
Con on?
We'll go with that one. Con on TR!
I'm just glad Sparda isn't here to read this. He'd never let me live it down.

Re: A speech of mild importance
You are right, I will absolutely never let you live this down. Like ever. Seriously.
But at least you spelled everything well and used proper grammar. Ah well.
But yeah, cons are not srs bsns they are fun and used to form cohesion. Not to make people mad and all that hoopa joop.
So con on and all that.

Re: A speech of mild importance
Thank you for this Pere, its not just cons that people are taking things too seriously at too though. This topic is more of a general statement to us all. Nearly everything I say is a joke, and people are starting to get mad at me for saying it,
This is not "mild" importance like you think Pere, this is much more important then you can ever imagine. This speech is going to shape the rest of our lives. I am very glad you posted this.
I guess the main message from TR clan to us all as a whole (I do not exclude myself as being a possible person, we are all guilty), is just, chill.
I can only wonder what's going to happen when we start picking sides, of Lycan vs Vampire. Oh god...
