Don't fall into peer pressure, raise a balanced team.

I try to get the same amount of pokemon as each gym leader to avoid from having a lot of underleveled pokemon or one overleveled.

There is no second Elite 4. Just the 8 Kanto gyms and then Red.

Yeah Cial's guide looked like one of those off-brand Canadian ones. Can't trust them. Through my own experience, yes, there is a second fight against the Elite Four where they are stronger.

I actually just got the Earth badge and went to see Oak and I'm actually on Mt. Silver right now. I'm guessing the Elite 4 is an extra challenge for people who want to go through it again.

EDIT:
At any rate, I already caught MewTwo with my Master ball (The way the Master Ball was meant to be used) and PokeTransferred him to my Black 2 for training and battling. So I may not pick up HeartGold again unless I want to train my team even further just to battle Red and get the starters.

Using the Master Ball takes the fun out of crushing Mewtwo under your boot and shoving a regular Poke'ball down its mutated throat. The true use of a Master Ball is to put it up in a trophy shelf and making your friends stare at it while charging admission to your Ego Museum.

But it's obvious that the Master ball was created just for Mewtwo, like check it.

Mewtwo is greyish, sort of matching the white on the pokeball, with purple on his body. What about the pink, you may ask? Well, either it's to represent Mew, the pokemon Mewtwo was mutated from, or the color of Psychic, Mewtwo's primary type.

That's how I do it. I show my friends, "NO HAX. THREE LEGENDARY DOGS. STILL HAVE MASTERBALL."

Cial, while that is an interesting theory, it is not supported in the game/anime (Not sure on the manga). Besides the reasoning behind it in each game not being for after explanation from the professor/encounter in a building, why would they give you a Master Ball when Mewtwo is not in the region?
