[TR - The Game] Concept Art
Yeah, yeah. I can already here it. "But we've never gotten it off the ground. Our first flash-er disappeared, Caeel left us like 3 times, and it all rotted away." **** that. I was looking around my files and spotted something from when we were doing the pixel art (no idea if that's still going), so I booted up an old template and made this stuff:
Starting/Base
Basic Mage
Basic Rogue
Basic Warrior
Yeah I know, nothing too special, but it is concept/prototype art. Have any suggestions? Want to make your own? I've doubled the size of the original template (cause that's what the pixel people's actual size was), so it is easier to work with, but is also easier to make mistakes with because you have to use a 2 pixel pencil in photoshop instead. So be careful with those smaller squares. All work is done at 150px/inch.
More on the TRTG is coming soon, including jobs needed to be done, lore brainstorms, and more.

Cool, oops, forgot the template.
It's PNG, but open it in photoshop, otherwise editing doesn't work xD

Re: [TR - The Game] Concept Art
What happened to those overworld sprites that Hunter made. Or was it atriax? I'm not sure who it was but I remember sprites that had templates for you facing all sides.
Re: [TR - The Game] Concept Art
I made some templates for two additional sides, but I'm not sure how they were used. I can post them too, I was actually going to pick apart Nel's figure that has all the different anims, it's just going to take a little while.
You can look around the section (probably in the art dev thread) for them if you want.

Re: [TR - The Game] Concept Art
FURTHER GAME INFORMATION:
The majority of game art has been done by Nelioka. Here are some sample of art so far:
Walking Animation
The inn
A bridge
The castle
A garden thing
Water thing
A rock.
shrooms
the inn
A house
Apparently theres furniture in this .zip
Walking Sprites!
Oh ya in my opinion we should move away from directly using Pokemon art. Therefore making our own trees bushes and grass would be a good idea.

Houses are based on pokemon houses and are remade greatly with only the original shape remaining. However the trees grass and bushes are straight out of pokemon.

Female pixel art is quite hard to make, but I agree.

Re: [TR - The Game] Concept Art
This is jolly and all, but I don't think it's going to go any where unless if you have a flash programmer, and I don't think there's any in TR that has the time to do this. (In other words, I don't want artists to waste their time.)

So, until we can find a able coder, I think we should freeze anticipation for the game. (Of course, if you guys just like making pixel art that's fine.)

Re: [TR - The Game] Concept Art
RPGmaker is a program used popularly by pokemon hack makers. As far as I know it is free, requires no coding and is easier to use than flash. Let's try this out.

If anybody wants to actually work on this game and not make jokes than here's the link to the rpgmaker that would be used. You can get it in thirty day free trials.

Not actually that hard, mostly just a new hairstyle, but we could easily do "more." (To keep it PG here). I will probably make a separate template in the end.
As to the RPG Maker, it's not what we're looking for. Trust me, I've tried it, and I had to go over to a PC to do that (not everyone's on PCs) and I'd rather not have to deal with to much... Handling by one/a few person(s). I would rather stick to something that everyone can use.

Re: [TR - The Game] Concept Art
I don't think anyone can program a game from scratch, as discussed before. You don't have to necessarily be the programmer for the game, and I think most of us have access to Windows. Any way, if someone was willing to learn the program and commit the time I think it could work.
Re: [TR - The Game] Concept Art
True, but the combat system is more of a FF sorta deal, and less action-y. Plus I don't know how our art will work in the program.
On top of that I'm not even sure that you can run the games on a Mac or Linux. Which is another bonus for Flash. Unless anyone knows how to code HTML5?
As for female artwork, converting the current template to be a female is pretty much impossible to do without distorting one or more of it's features (ie: arms or head). So for now it'll mostly be hairstyles and outfits, as it's always been.
