Re: Sprites topic.
Nuke I still say use RMXP. The more people talk about it the more it sounds like a good idea. I seem to remember that one of the things stopping rmxp was that it had a FF style battle system. But now if we are going to use a FFI battle system anyways, that problem is gone. AS for the no mac compatibility there are lots of .exe file openers available.

That's true, Pere - but I don't think formal coding skills would be needed if we were to use RMXP. Notably, I would appreciate if someone could do some research if OSX can indeed open RMXP games via .exe openers, as the last thing I would want to happen is to make the game using the program and not being able to open it on any macs. Also, is Dig actually up to fully coding a game?
As for art, we definitely need to specify what characters will look like in pixel form before they can be created (reference images). However, there are a few sprites that will probably be used (or extended upon) no matter what. Kera/anyone else interested, why don't you give a go at the following?
-Bushes/trees
-Character base (bald head, skin can be recolored as necessary, so just make it beige for now.)
-Doors
-Signs/any other wooden furniture or ambient objects

Re: Sprites topic.
i already have the character base, i stored it from when i was working last year. if you all want it i can post it. as for the rest i think its a good idea, although im not as good at going out on a limb for the designes we want to have as i was with darre telling me what we needed i can still figure things out pretty well.
