Super Mario 64 Speedrunning WR Holder
So, THIS IS THE RUN.
Super Mario 64 is one of the best speedrunning games competed on because it is fast pace and leaves the speed runner plenty of options. I heartily enjoy watching Siglemic (Michael Sigler) attempt to improve his WR as he has a few times in the past month. There are plenty of competitors and viewers turn his chatbox into a nuthouse. Check it out sometime. He streams his live play, and you can check any previous live streams if you'd like to. He talks to chat unless he thinks he has a good chance of breaking the record.

Re: Super Mario 64 Speedrunning WR Holder
He does legitimate runs. He broke the WR early last month, and was beaten a few days after by a competitor named Honey. He beat Honey's WR before he could even upload the video, so within about 4 hours of getting it. That WR was 1:45:35 to get all 120 stars. He beat that around a week ago but I don't know exactly what his time was. It was somewhere around 1:44:58 though.
Also, he plays on a real N64 when he does it, and the Japanese version of the game because it's standard for speedrunning with a minor time advantage. He bought a foot pedal for hitting his "splits" or divisions between times during the current run to see how well he is doing compared to a previous run. Glitches are used, tools are not. Just watching a few levels is amazing to see, the way he takes my childhood and turns it upside-down.
