Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
Did you see that? Darre just said that ice hockey and kangaroos are superior to you, Pyro.

Yeah, they live in Australia Tim, right next to Canada on the list. Its okay Canada, the rest of the world doesn't think you are on the top of the brains chart anyways.
Its funny someone can think something related to French is good at all. Honestly.

Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
America has cheese burgers, HBO, 1 night stands, violent games, and we practically gave birth to the modern internet. What more is there to life?
I repeat, AMERICA > ALL.
Canada has mounties and England has a sexy accent, which are both awesome in themselves, I'll admit, but the obese bar hopping pill popping STD knocking roller coaster known as LIFE IN AMERICA is just too god damn fun to stop.

Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
The inventor of the internet is largely debated but the inventor of the world wide web was actually a British man by the name of Tim Berners-Lee, that's right, BRITISH not American.
Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
I'm sorry, what did you say Canada did? Nothing notable, I presume. I guess British beats Canada and USA still beats the British.

Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
If we are going to base this solely on the contributions of countries to the formation of the internet it would be Britain/USA>Canada>The Rest. However Canadians are famous for actually inventing a lot of stuff claimed to be invented by the US. Plus one of the pioneers of integrated circuit boards was Canadian and a Canadian designed the codes to be used for WW2 communications. A very large and important task if I do say so myself.
Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
When I say "modern internet", I mean the world wide phenomenon its become.
Facebook, Twitter, CSS, mobile phone/tablet integration, wireless networking, memes, motivational posters, trolling, even porn ad's were modernized in America.

Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
There are three factors contributing to that result right there:
A survey conducted by a social media website on personal preference isn't a fair or unbiased survey, it is an all out picking war by those who are in it for their own country. Americans are quite involved in social media so they're representation would be larger.
Americanization of the world's culture leaves us flooded in the media with american things so much that we perceive them as cool because they're popular. This happens so much so in Canada due to our geographic closeness of being right next to each other and the fact that 80% of our trade is with them.
Canadians are too modest (as said in this seperate article about cool countries: http://www.cnngo.com/explorations/life/12-coolest-nationalities-earth-050844?page=0,0 ) to vote for ourselves and we travel a lot. Plus our population is small.
Germany is last, flat out, because of Nazis. Despite the things the survey is targeting people will subconsciously draw in other things that they remember about that place. And people (especially immature kids) still remember that.
/end excuses

Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
Not really its riddled with holes and isn't even from a legitimate source. I take it as seriously as a poll on the front page of a website with a lot of traffic. I'm just in the mindset of typing waay more than I need to right now.

I'm not saying we did the world a favor. In fact, I think the world was largely made worse with the trends modernized America introduced, and I think the hate we attract from out European brothers is largely deserved.
Worse for wear or not though, we are responsible for allot. Not necessarily on popularity, but we definitely set the standard for "modernization".
Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
I'd like to say that since America is the world superpower and is going to be for the next several years it is also the cultural centre and is the trend setter.
Re: Haha. Long Time No See :D
True.
Although I think new up and coming powers like China and the Swiss are pretty powerful atm.
