Dark Souls (And some GotY discussion because the fanboys can't stay quiet)
Possible Game of the Year? Yeah. Dark Souls is one heck of an RPG. It is also the most difficult game on a disc.
Anyone play Dark Souls? I highly recommend it, and currently it is my favorite RPG that I have ever played, even trumping Oblivion.

Well yeah, I did that to the Gamestop employee I talked with, he ended up rephrasing it to on a disc.
I won't talk about if I think Skyrim is game of the year worthy until I play it. It could just be Oblivion 2, and don't get me wrong, Oblivion was great, but I expect serious improvements on things like combat.
Something the critics say about Dark Souls is that you don't feel like you're held back by any game mechanics, and that you are in complete control of your destiny.

Back on topic please. Go to the Elder Scrolls thread if you want to discuss Skyrim.

Because it honestly could be Game of the Year, along with Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Batman, and... MW3 :/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/
You can't say Skyrim is GoTY before it even comes out, you at least have to play it. I've played Dark Souls, I know it is epic, I plan to play Skyrim, it should be epic but we don't know for sure yet.
If Dark Souls online was less glitchy it would probably win GoTY easily. SO INNOVATIVE. INNOVATION

Even though MW3 will not be GOTY material, its insanely huge fanbase and paid off reviewers will give it a sporting chance.

Except no CoD game has ever gotten GOTY, but almost every Elder Scrolls game, excluding the first two, have.

Another Elder Scrolls fanboy who can't back up his facts. FOR SHAME. You have a right to be a fanboy, Elder Scrolls are dang good games, just know what you're talking about
Did anyone actually read the multiplayer aspects of Dark Souls?

Edited it. Tbh yes, I do it because I have seen others do it. Also, I didn't know 3 short sentences that don't even take up two lines are a paragraph.

Re: Dark Souls (And some GotY discussion because the fanboys can't stay quiet)
Dark Souls is one of the best RPG's ever.
That said, I especially am fond of the fanbase, unlike the typical Halo/COD groups who go berserk at the smallest thing, the Dark Souls fanabse is surprisingly nice. Die on the first boss? No problem, they will help ya out.
They do not tolerate stupidity though, don't ask the same question three times in a row, and don't have a lapse in common sense in Co-op play.
Currently... I'm post Anor Londo, gonna train a bit before I hit the archives.

Re: Dark Souls (And some GotY discussion because the fanboys can't stay quiet)
The thing I don't understand about these games is they're supposedly "hard" when really its just trial and error over and over until you finally get something exactly right.
I may be wrong though, I've never played.
