Call to shenanigans: Private server MMO's!

It's still summer, and you know what that means? Sitting indoors all the time on your computer, wasting the valuable hours you could be out playing with your friends!

AND WHAT BETTER WAY TO WASTE YOUR VALUABLE HOURS THAN ON A MMO?

I made this thread because really, if I want to jump on a private server to some MMO, I'd like there to be a few other people as well. There are two choices, both rather liked over at CERTAIN CIRCLES so I guess they're good.

First option, Final Fantasy XI. No, it's not the MMO that SE made a while ago that bombed hilariously, this is 10 years old or something, rather new so the server doesn't have a huge population. Heard that the game works pretty well despite being a private server, although there's some issue about a BCT making people solo it or something? Anyway... Downside is, I heard getting the game to work is sort of a hassle. I have no further details about it.

Talk about the server being really new is rather correct, at the time of this edit there were 25 people online on the server.

Pro's:
- You can play as a little girl.
- Apparently a good MMO.

Con's:
- Your male friends will play as little magical girls.

Second option, Star Wars Galaxies. This server is pretty new too, I think. I don't know anything about the game itself except A) it's Star Wars and B) it's the version that wasn't total crap before the company that ran it turned it into a crappy WoW clone that failed and 95% of the players left.

Pro's:
- It's Star Wars!
- PEW PEW PEW I'M A STORMTROOPER

Con's:
- It's Star Wars.
