Re: SAO
tbh it wanst that sad because shes just a side character that never gets developped at all so you dont have a chance to build an actual connection to her.
it was pretty CRAWWWLINGGGG though

Re: SAO
how did you know she was a side character since it was only the 4th ep?
Any way, finished up to 12. Does the second season get better? Because 6-12 just seemed like otaku juice

Re: SAO
second season is infinitely better in my opinion. but it stays the same old gary stu kicking ass every single episode.
I knew because i watched it when it aired, and the threads explained that episodes 4 - 6 or something were just sidestories written way after but put in as filler.
not to mention her waving the death flag like its her job all episode

Re: SAO
I just watched this anime and loved it, but it seems to get a lot of hate around the web. I guess you either love it or hate it.
Re: SAO
It's the Twilight of anime. Only difference is that instead of a female Mary Sue MC, there's a male Gary Stu MC. Wait, I think Twilight had those as well. Damn.
Anyway, as far as I've seen, it's not the deepest anime, well done sure, but the plot is about as compelling as watching paint dry. Except this paint is on fire, and golems pop out of it to fight each other with awesome super powers. It's a good series for it's action, but dear god if you ever say anything about the plot being anywhere close to being good.
Especially the way to end the last boss fight. "I hack you now with admin clearance", and a whole lot of other stuff that led to that moment.
To defend the guy who made the series though, I think he wrote it as a teenager or something, so that explains the super-super MC that gets all the cool things, is cool and- Yeah.
I might watch it when I'm drunk enough.

Re: SAO
Isn't Accel World by the same writer? It would be sort of amusing, considering how the series aired at the same time if I'm not wrong, and AW's MC wasn't nearly as plot-armored as SAO's was.
Maybe I'm wrong about it. Whatever. I need to watch more anime of today to come back to the loop and talk about my chinese cartoons with the rest of youlosers cool guys.

Re: SAO
they might be, i forget. they're somehow related i guess. if they are accel world was CLEARLY written when he actually knew how to write beyond "super strong main character who kils everythin"

Re: SAO
Don't forget "and gets the girls, especially his TRUE WUV". Was this the series where the MC's little sister also got HIV or AIDS or something? The response to that online was sort of hilarious.

Re: SAO
Oh right, I think the novels has the MC continuing adventures as a SHERLOCK HOLMES of some sort so yeah. I can't remember the details, something about murders and online gaming.
