well, most banners do count in the awesome pic's thread, but vamp has obviously approved, and we do have a hand drawn thread, why not banners?

These are the only banner's I've ever made, but they were all gifts I gave when I was working the the shattered art shop on the ae forums a few weeks a go. They kind of suck, but its how the customer wanted them, so I left them as is.

I took some pictures of lightning strikes form deviant art and lowered the opacity, then put it on overlay mode right before I twisted and duplicated and warped them. If you look very closely at the eagle you can see imprints of lightning stemming from the center. Creates a nice flow effect. The background was a bunch of brushes I smudged and blurred until it looked like a decent texture. You can also just download a lightning brush set, I used some of that here as well.

Aeon, how would I make a banner tut?

all you do is open a new document 500px by 100px, and then do whatever you want to do on your banner

(500px by 100px is AE forum sized banner, you can make yours as big as you fancy)
