Spriting & Programs
First of all, you all seem to be very artsy, and keep referring to things called sprites.
What are they?
How do you do it?
What programs can you do it in? Eg. Microsoft picture viewer (I don't have photoshop)

Re: Spriting & Programs
Sprites are items/characters etc. that have a transparent background and can be used for picture/animation purposes.
You usually start with a image with a background a crop out the background until you have a clean version of your character.
As far as I know, the only way to have a very clean, successful sprite is with Photoshop.

Re: Spriting & Programs
They can be done with any picture editing program - Photoshop, GIMP, etc.
I have a spriting guide for PS, and I'm sure you can use Google to find guides for other programs.

Depends on what your looking to do. Assuming AQW, there isn't a real guy for spriting your character (which is what I do for everyone). This process takes up time and patience. You can /goto Weena's Sprite Tutorial and see how to make one yourself.
