Got any tips for a sevvie?
Got any tips for a sevvie?
Re: School...
Well if you need any help, I'm here. I've graduated high school and have taken a lot of college classes. I almost became a math tutor but I couldn't because that one semester I wasn't taking enough credits.

Re: School...
Having started seventh grade just a few miles away from where you're doing the same, Winnie, I have a few useful tips for you...
1. Congratulations, you'll never have a desk you can leave all your stuff in again, and it's in your best interests not to adapt your locker to this purpose. In fact, if you have all your stuff in one binder, you'll be astonished at how much more organized you are all of a sudden. Which is why I recommend doing that, regardless of what your teachers WILL tell you.
2. That said, keeping your locker in good shape is smart too. After all, that's where you'll put the binders and textbooks you aren't using during the daytime, though my favored method involves taking everything home with you at the end of the day. Just make sure you have the combination and locker number written down where you can check it whenever you need to, and you'll be all set.
3. Middle school is a confusing, crowded, and noisy place. Making your way through the hallways might be hard for a while, since you're used to the orderly progression so strictly enforced in elementary school and which goes out the window the moment you don't have watchful teachers shepherding you between classes anymore. Just remember that the way people move in hallways is almost exactly like the way cars move on streets, and pretty soon you'll be able to figure out how the traffic patterns will get you from place to place.
4. Relax, the school isn't really out to get you. After a few scary days of culture shock, you'll figure it out and settle into the flow of things. You'll even figure out where your classes are located by the time the teachers stop being lenient about tardy arrivals. Just do your best, and remember, every other sevvie in the place is in precisely the same boat you are. You'll all figure it out together.

Re: School...
Ahhh! School!!!! I start in less than four hours!!!!
Oh well, C'est la vie! Advice for school, eh?
1. Keep your mind on your studies. (That's if you want to pass, its a very general idea)
2. DO NOT do drugs. (Drugs suck the life out of you and most drug users start in middle school.)
3. Do NOT get sucked into all that school drama. (So not worth it, but its entertaining to watch)
4. Do your homework, anyway possible. Don't be like me and finish in the 20 minutes before class.(I still wonder HOW I manage to do that...even now!)
5. Peer Pressure sucks! If they pressure you, flip them the bird (When a teacher isn't looking of course.)
6. Most boys are hormonal idiots, AVOID them. (Keyword there most.)
7. Sleep is good, don't stay up all night if you can't stay up for school.
8. Keep all valuable things on you, or don't bring them. (Keep your phone on silent in you pocket with your wallet.)
Well, that's what I remember about middle school. Its like the mix of High school and Elementary school. Nonetheless, you're going to make some happy memories there.

Re: School...
More tips, I found that doing sports and activities help you meet new friends, if you didn't meet everyone 6th grade year :P
Sticking to your old friends is good too, don't try to ditch them for new people or make fun of them to try to look cool, it doesn't work out in the end, I've seen it happen.
Some schools let you carry your backpack around, but many don't, so plan out when you should go to your locker and still have enough time to talk to friends, go to the bathroom, etc.
Eat breakfast, it gives you the energy and thinking strength to last until lunch.

Re: School...
I've found High-Tops are FTW for 7th grade.
Reasons:
Tight on your feet, for support.
Makes it very easy to turn to avoid people walking the other way.
Walking doesn't wear it out as much as other sneakers.
If you REALLY need to, they pack a fairly good, swift kick to jerk faces.

Re: School...
Tip #2: When speeches come around, make sure your teacher is talkative, we get through 2 or 3 speeches in a period (50 minutes) and so far I don't think I'm going to be one of the people doing theirs first.
Tip #3: Don't annoy teachers.

Re: School...
Tip #4: Take a can of coffee with you! Sometimes I have lessons of two hours where the teachers are talking the whole time, it's difficult to fall NOT in sleep..

Re: School...
wow seventh grade
that seems like such a long time ago *feels really old*
lol I'm a high school junior now. My advice would be to stay focused this year because highschools will actually look at your seventh grade grades along with your eighth grade ones. Other than that enjoy it cuz you have no idea how easy you have it xD

Rawrz! I remember the hell seventh grade was! Not fun! Another tip of advice, don't let the stress of what anyone says about seventh grade get to you...otherwise it will suck three times as much!

Re: School...
Just do your homework, and get good grades on it, when you don't, your life goes downhill from there.

Re: School...
Hmmm, my advice would be... hmmm do all of your work and turn it in on time. I was horrible about this last year when i was in seventh grade. This almost made me fail. ( even though i have an iq of over 120...) So yeah, just don't be lazy about doing work. tip 2, if people are annoying you try not to make too big a reaction, or a reaction at all. Some people will turn this into a game for themselves and just try to piss you off everyday. (yes this happened to me as well as almost failing.)
