You know what beats me, how simple they are to draw, yet how much i suck at them.. i am talking about drawing hands, and skulls...
However you mastered that one with ease.. this time I think the hammer behind the body looks cool, but then maybe a little bit more shading on that hand, to show it is behind, drawn those skulls beautifully, the shoulder looks right, and so does the head, so well done on that one!

I would (Now this is a challenge) I would like to see you draw the first chaos lord! Escherion*

*Don't know how to spell that!

Here, I present you, Kaotic's Death Harbinger (Kao's DH)

Kaotic, you liar you! You said you couldn't draw, yet I can clearly see proof against it in Kaos DH. Don't doubt yourself!

Xieg, that is your best drawing yet. I love your manga style much more than most mangas I've seen. Don't give up!

I said I suck at drawing hands and skulls, not at 'drawing' xD

@kao

Is that a request?..
if it is then post in my request shop...

although I already know it will suck I might give it a try...

also the wep looks wicked but I think it still needs more defining of how the flame embraces the wep and what the wep looks like...

It is my first Manga, I was looking at Poke'mon because it is the only manga book i have lol, and I drew these two, remember, it is my first drawing of Manga:

The Drawing Topic - Page 6 Empty Re: The Drawing Topic

Post by Xieg Sat Jul 18, 2009 9:01 am

First off the 1st drawing..
The body composition seems not balanced I suggest you use a body outline to fix this and not only that it will fix it, It will make it look better trust me...
The head seems alittle too high it looks like its stretching its neck so I think that needs to be lowered down(outline can fix this)...
The hair seems to undefined I suggest starting with a normal hair before going to spikey ones...
The hand I think is the hardest thing to draw its needs to be well defined interms of posing and making a hand movement like drawing so I suggest you work on that..
Lastly I think the box you used as the chair needs more defining onto how the person in your drawing sits cause it seem too irregular to me that it doesn't connect to how the person on the drawing sits..

Onto the 2nd drawing..
I think you did pretty great on this one I can find only a two flaws so far I think the fluffy thing you used for the coat needs fixing(the one below not on the hands or neck) I only suggest taking on more manga like women drawings and looking for more poses...
that's the only things I find that needs improvement here...

Anyways Good work onto your manga drawings...
If you ask me what I started out drawing manga with its "Dragon Ball"
loved that series...

Thanks, so i see, outline helps a lot, and he may look a little lop-sided because I didn't put the piece of paper in 'straight' on the scanner, so yeh, thanks!
Also, what does a 'normal' hairstyle look like xD

Still I think its still slanted..(the chair you used <.<)
also what I mean to say with "normal" hairstyle is that don't make use of too many spikes use natural looking hair that looks awesome and cool for the meantime...

Very nice for a first attempt, Kao. I can't believe that you don't think you can draw! These two are very good. Now, a body outline works for some people, but definitely not for everyone. If you have trouble using one, just go for it freestyle. Thats what I usually do.

Anyway, please keep drawing! I like your style, and I'd love to see your skills flourish.

Don't be so sure, Charon. It's a great leap from drawing from the what is seen to what is seen from the mind's eye. Heck, I'm still in that transition.

Kao (and Xieg as well), might I suggest using a light blue colored pencil for early sketching? When used lightly, the color appears slowly on a white sheet of paper and can be drawn over by another tool, such as a pencil or pen.

Plus, as an added bonus, the blue markings don't show up after the image is photocopied, or they can be removed in PS.

D: I never knew that..

so what kind of light blue pencil do I use?
wait.. I use mechanical pencil due to the fact that I hate using the sharpiner every 10mins or so..
is there a lead that's sky blue? :3

I wouldn't suggest going with a mechanical pencil for the blue outline. The lead in the mechanical versions is usually very slick, leading to lines becoming slippery on paper (especially printer paper >.<). A sky-blue pencil out of a coloring set would be optimal.

Oh, one more thing. Have you guys thought about getting a bigger canvas? If so, get Newsprint paper for now. It's the cheapest, lol!

I just use huge pads of paper that we get for free, an then rub out the pencil, then brighten it in Photoshop..
