Are there any rules for bumps at the moment (Limit of bumps, which threads they can be used on, etc.)? Or does the bumping post actually have to contain related content to the given topic (Or both, but just curious)?

Continuous bumping is disallowed. That's the only rule in regards to bumping.

Bumping is only allowed on your own gallery/shop threads.

Other than that, double posting is only allowed if you can contribute a comment to that thread. Therefore, you can't sheerly bump a thread just so it goes to the top.
