Help with young love.

I can't believe I'm about to ask TR about this but...
There's this person (who's name and gender remain mysterious) who lives in another city in New Zealand, and I really like them. Yeah I know that it's surprising seeing as it seems I hate every living thing, but roll with it. Two weeks before christmas I suggested one of us went to go meet the other to meet up or something, but I got reject because I'm not their type.
I think it was because I wasn't wearing the coolest skinny jeans and my hair wasn't over my eyes when I asked. But I'm totally looking emo and stuff now, and I want to try again.
Do you think this is a good idea?

I think it's beautiful to pursue such a love, flaw. I really believe Cial's idea could work well. It shows how much he means to you.
