It's also only the US who is so stubborn in their patriotism that people from the country think that anyone who suggests an easier to use measurement system deserves to die for being overly unamerican.

Hey how about this. Why don't people learn both? I did that and both of them are interesting to use. Both have situations where they are easier than the other. It's not like either them take a long time to learn. This isn't like learning a language. I mean heck a lot of scientists know the Imperial system for the sake of doing experiments.

In short, just learn both. It'll make you seem smarter.

I know the metric system and began learning the imperial some time ago because I'm moving to America soon. But I haven't come upon a situation where the imperial one is easier than the metric one yet.

I'd like to ask you for one or two examples.

There IS a metric system of time... it's just that nobody liked it. At all. So now it's nearly impossible to go find a metric clock or a metric calendar... but if you feel like it, look up the term "Thermidorian Reaction" and find out more.

They're two systems of measurement. Know what I think? I don't think it matters, you can convert between them.
