Thoru's Server Updates!
Alright guys, I've installed a few mods on Thoru's Server:
WorldEdit, as I'm sure all of you know, can make large selections and do various things with those selections. Youtube has lots of guides on using it, if some people don't know how.
CommandBook offers a wide arrange of commands listed here. I think one of the most helpful ones will be the /weather command, for turning rain off.
Finally, MultipleHomes is a very helpful command that allows you to set multiple spawns for yourself. You can set a home where you're standing by typing /sethome [number], where the number is a digit. For example, I could type "/sethome 2". You can then teleport to your respective homes by typing "/home [number]". This should be very helpful towards allowing people to teleport to two places at once, making multiple building projects possible. I will ask, however, for people not to go crazy with this: I set a maxiumum number of homes to 10. Note that homes can be overwritten with the /sethome command. (Remember, that's 10 unique homes, per player.)
Enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Minecraft!
By the way, I'm open towards installing more mods. I was thinking of installing CraftBall so we could set up a sports arena in spiral city, and maybe Planes/Vehicles as well.
Re: Minecraft!
My house above RageTowers would be a great place for planes, largest could be put in the main hanger, and I can drop more of them down and expand sizes if needed.
Also, I think we should create a list of things we should create. Devide into teams and work on them until we get them done as far as we want. ex:
-Water Tower Rico Bay (I'd love to work on this, but I'd have to fill the water up somehow. Its one of those old ones with the four poles and the open top wood (planks)
-Farmhouse
-Silo
-Barn
things can be added onto it, but It'd be fun to have partners so that rookies and pro's could team together.

Rage, where can we use Docks, isn't it pretty far away from water?

Re: Minecraft!
Ohoho.
Let me know when you are, though - Rage, because I was going to do some things in WE as well.

Re: Minecraft!
I played around with world edit. Played with stacking trees, made a sphere with a slime in it, killed a bunch of pigmen with sand, put out V's fire and replaced it with wool, made a quick walkway through a mountain and more. Not to mention CHICKEN BOOMBBBSSS

Re: Minecraft!
Oh, WorldEdit, not MCEdit. Yeah, WorldEdit is fine. The //undo command is your friend.
Re: Minecraft!
V rage says fill the leveled out part with at least 5 blocks of water but that doesn't make sense because then it would be 5 blocks OVER sea level. but do what you must.
Also I will soon begin construction on an underwater city.

Re: Minecraft!
You would have to level out the appropriate region to the same level as sea level (68), yes. Although, you could make a pond instead if you aren't planning on connecting it with the main ocean.
Also, with WE, it's not so much a question of "how many blocks": rather, filling the appropriate cuboid region. So, just make a selection from one corner at sea level and the other however deep the want the water to be (dig a 1x1 hole), and then //set water.

Re: Minecraft!
or you could use //fill water x. x= radius of area you want filled.

Re: Minecraft!
First look at official pistons.
Also from now on, unless you really WANT to, you can just build one floor of a building and stack it up with WE.

Re: Minecraft!
Guys, before making more buildings in different areas, how about we populate the cobble areas of the main city first?
Also, while WorldEdit has a lot of appeal for stomping through tedious tasks and creating landscapes suitable for scenery and building, we need to remember that the quick solution is not always the appropriate path. You lose a lot of commitment to the project and possibly lose sight of small details that make constructions great in the first place.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that we should use WorldEdit in moderation. Take it from the guy who's attempting to make an ocean that looks good.
