Nostalgia Empty Nostalgia

Post by Tim Hortans Fri May 27, 2011 4:11 am

So. Slap on those nostalgia goggles. And look back to the games you played as a young kid. Those games you wish you still had, or those games that you see mentioned on a website and you suddenly think back to all the fun times you had.

Post em.

I recently decided that I can go no longer without replaying Final Fantasy X (2002, not very old but it's been ages since I've played it). So I'm downloading it now. I can't wait to play it again. It was one of my all time favorite games. I still remember the laughing scene with Tidus and Yuna. By far, the best cutscene I've ever seen in my entire life. To date.

So yeah. Nostalgia time.

Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth!

I'd play it every time I went to my Dad's house. EPIC NOSTALGIA.

Also, Pokemon Gold. I love that game so much. When HeartGold came out I nostalgiaed so hard I nearly died.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. This game was mostly all I ever played on the gamecube, ranging from playing storyline, selecting stages and playing them, racing, 2p racing, 2p stages against my brother, all the way to raising my own Chao.

Crash Bandicoot. Back during the days when my older sister lived at home and owned a Playstation. Never finished the game since she moved out and the Playstation disappeared. :/

Pretty much every Freddie Fish, Put-Put, or My Little Pony game ever released I have played. Shame they don't work on my computer, though. :/ I miss the olden days where all the world's problems could be solved by picking up objects and making others feel good.

Super Smash Bros. The whole series. I wouldn't be surprised if I have logged over 5000 hours on the series. After about 2 years of play on the original, I erased the file, and looking back I have over 10 hours on each character and 20+ on my, and my brother's old favorites.

When I was a toddler, I played JumpStart Kindergarten, Big Thinkers First Grade, and Putt-Putt Travels through Time... I didn't win the Putt-Putt game until years later, though.

When I was about seven, I had a Furby video game. I loved that game for reasons that confused the living daylights out of my entire family.

Oh, and for years I shared several games with my brother: two Pajama Sam adventures, Freddie Fish and the Haunted Schoolhouse, and a few Tonka Truck games.

There were more. A lot more.

Because we jogged your memory? And I had "You Are What You Eat" too! The other one was "There's No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside." Don't ask how I remember the full titles.

OH MY GOSH- We tried so hard to beat that. We also had, "Thunder and Lightning Aren't so Frightening," where I remember something about it being sunny in seattle. I always get the 2 games mixed up. I also owned Sock Works, which was one of the most pointless games ever but was still impossible for me to beat. -_-

Also, to quote TVTropes:

"In You Are What You Eat From Your Had To Your Feet, Sam becomes ill after eating too many cookies, only for the remainder to somehow come alive and take him to MopTop Island, an island resembling his own body. While there, he learns that there is a lot of conflict between the six factions of food groups. A delegate from each group has been chosen to attend a conference for peace talks, however most have gone missing. Sam must go and find the missing delegates and make it home in time for dinner."

Yeah. that. I loved those games so much...
