^^Its an approval, ur supposed to put it up in ur gallery, its like a trophy.


Do u have a link or something to a guide on how to use brushes properly? Or at least tell me how you manage to blend brushes so perfectly?XD

every time I try, my works come out sloppy.

I’ll start with this picture of a laptop. Previously, I used screening and overlay to create the stone and smoke affects.

After creating three layers and brushing under the laptop, there are some areas that I don’t need.

First method of blending:
Image 1: Add a layer mask to Brush 3 and press D to set the fill color as black. Lower the opacity of the brush to 30% and brush over unwanted areas. As you can see, the brushed area on the top right corner is no longer visible.

Image 2: Set Brush 2’s blending mode to multiply and add a layer mask to Brush. Use your brush to give the layer some transparency.

Image 3: Use curves adjustment, Ctrl + M, on Brush 2 to darken the layer and continue blending Brush.

Unwanted areas on Brush 2 are erased, and a Hue/Saturation adjustment is applied to Brush 3. Lastly, I applied Screen blending mode to Brush 3. The result is this.

If this doesn't help, I'll find a tutorial that is more in-depth.

I must say, I'm impressed...... You have to be graphic designer, in real life, aren't you?


Might i imply as to where you get you're stock? I can't seem to get any free good quality stock, and I juts started using them.

Also, do you only use photoshop? some of you're works are amazing, and I can't seem to produce those effects. Like the traveling one and the regulars sig, I can't get that tannish sepa look that makes it look vintage........

Thanks, Pyro. I am not a graphic designer; I may be one in the future, but right now I am still learning. Normally, I find my stocks from www.sxc.hu, planetrenders.net, stockvault.net, and Google images as a last resort. I do understand it can be difficult to find a good quality stock, as most require payment.

Illustrator was used for the recent four or five projects, but everything else was created in Photoshop.

The tannish sepia effect was achieved through Gradient Map layer enhancements. I'm sure if you experiment with Gradients a little, you will find an effect that looks great.
