TR: The True Story
So I've graduated from highschool. As I no longer have any studying or forseeable future, I have wound up with a shitload of spare time. Due to this reason and more, I figured the best way to actually waste some of it would be to pay more attention to TR.
Following this train of thought, my attention drifted to the old convo-based stories some of our members (AKA Pere) have written in the past, and I realized... ''man, these are terrible, if only I could go somewhere where these stories could not find me*'' Granted, as these stories are on the internet, and the internet is everywhere: this is an impossible task. So I'm going to do the next best thing and write the NEW AND IMPROVED ADVENTURES of all of us silly people. It shall be in a NOVEL FORMAT and feature MODERN STORYTELLING FUNCTIONS such as CHAPTERS and an ONGOING PLOT.
It will also flanderize all of us according to my biased views and thus make it extremely unfunny. So yeah. Writing chapter one now, do enjoy the wait.
*Just joking, love em all, you guys are fine wordsmiths of the highest order.

You should play SS13 with us instead. I bet that develops better stories.

Re: TR: The True Story
I really want this story to be OK, but I think Sebi is going to have a tough time here.
The reason Pere and I write the way we do, with an almost radio-story format, is because that's pretty much one of the easiest and most coherent ways to portray these people here.
Nobody here really has a character that transpires well as a character in a book. It's sad but true. Pere and I have often discussed that V is the only character in our stories that is fairly the same between the two. Others are based on either the character we make them, or the memes associated with that person, fabricated or on the forum. For example, everyone knows Icey only ever says "Chillin" and V has a fetish for iDevices and Apple.
The reason I think a book format would be hard, per se, is that with all these different things that TR is, it makes more sense to write TR as this private readable sitcom, or in shorts centered around one character (Who has been thrown in jail twice, become emperor and turned into a duck). A central plotline is hard to work around, and people often get angry if their character is either portrayed an unfavorable way or develops unfavorably (And I know for a fact that Sebi knows how this feels).
You're of course welcome to try, and I hope you succeed, but I don't know if it will be an easy road for you.

Re: TR: The True Story
The reason I'm doing this is because it lets me try writing in a new way. Normally, I have all my characters in mind when I write, with a basic plot that I'm heading for, this is all thought ahead but not put down into a physical form, so I can just write how I feel like it. With TR, the characters are in some way based on you guys, and this means I need to plan ahead more thoroughly, making slightly more developed concepts before I actually write, and that's the point, to challenge myself to write more coherently. Granted, not all the facts might be true (I'm going ahead with the basis that Erik is Irish, Cial is Canadian, Tim is American, and Thoru is British) But that's just creative changes. If anything, what I'm writing here is a sci-fi comedy action drama which should be a fairly new thing for me.
Still, I'm not expecting to make this work, although I'm trying to. But I'm not taking it 100% seriously. Pere is still chronically addicted to Cereal, Dig is still the Mysterious El Murderbeardo, and V is still the egomaniacal self centered pokemon/apple/fish obsessed timelord he always has been.
For the most part though, the main cast will be people that are still active here to some degree and whom I know well/have a general idea in mind on how to develop them, IE: Me, Tim, Cial, Pere, Dig, V, Rage, Tera, Winnie and Thoru. As you said, Icey mostly says ''Chillin'' and Xusha is Russian, there isn't much more depth than that. I guess we will be a jumping point for the story, and undergo development as I write it. Or regression as the case may be.

Re: TR: The True Story
As a protip: Making an ongoing plot revolving around an online forum's community(who all are funny and hilarious FOR REALS) always ends up the plot becoming increasingly stupid, in the bad way.

Re: TR: The True Story
Shame on you Murderbeardo.
I decided Dig should secretly be a german spanish vigilante known as El Murderbeardo, so everything I have him say is run through google translate, english to german, to spanish, to English; like this pearl:
''I'll beat all the villains, because none of legendary anger of the Almighty, who can escape very hairy EL MURDERBEARDO!''
From
''I shall defeat all of you vile villains, for none can escape the wrath of the legendary, the mighty, the handsomely hairy EL MURDERBEARDO!''

Re: TR: The True Story
Yes, because that's totally his title.
It's Pere's gig to steal everything from me to try and appear witty and entertaining. Obviously you have no credibility in your claimed feats of crafting a story that would amuse readers, if you do not even know such simple facts.

Re: TR: The True Story
So Ieb I've been thinking and I'm going to start a satirical news organization based on AE games. The only problem now is the name, but after some careful thought by me I've decided to call it Battleon City News. What do you think? We could call it BCN for short.

Re: TR: The True Story
I'm fairly sure that making up a "True Story" for TR is redundant due to the fact that most of the things that actually happen are beyond belief.
