I'm one of the original Pokemon Veterans... And seriously how is shiny's and Wobbuffet banned? I'm just very curious because I've been playing Pokemon nearly my entire life. And I can understand the K.O. moves for sure that they'd be banned but seriously shiny's and Wobbuffet?

ignore the shiny ban.

plus wobbufett is banned because anyone can throw one in encore and then reflect there move.

But, Wobbufett doesn't have the greatest defense and special defense, therefore it shouldn't be banned. Regardless of moves. And there's plenty of Pokemon that can learn Encore,Counter,and Mirror Coat.

I don't think it's so much the attacks but mainly the shadow tag ability that locks a pokemon to a battle with it..and all it ever does is reflect damage in some way..which is where it gets annoying and abusive..seeing how you can't escape..and you'll either get damage reflected at you or get taken down with it if you kill it with destiny bond..given that that things go according to said wobbuffet's favor that is..and the ridiculously high amount of HP it has as well probably won't help anyone that battles one..xD

Hmm Im at the part where you catch Lugia in SS, Im not sure what Im going to use my master ball on, Ive read that the lvl 70 Hooh can be a butt and that its good to use on Mewtwo but im not sure. :/

*Sigh* Sebi, basically the only ban for tournaments is Ubers. Also, Deoxys' speed form has been argued out of the Uber Tier. I'll go ahead and give the basic idea if you're going to compete.

In Tournaments, you may often find that even with the same level, there is a huge difference from your Pokemon to your opponent's. The biggest reason is EVs, or, more commonly, stats. These stats benefit the purpose of a single Pokemon, such as a sweeper for example. Lets take Pikachu, probably the most ironically underrated Pokemon in online competing. I will also explain th use of items, and how strongly they can change a battle. Pikachu, and Pikachu only, can use the light ball item. This item will increase it's Special Attack, which at best would normally be 252, but will increase by x2. The way this trainer obtained such a high stat of 504, they went through a process of EV training. EV training is battling certain other Pokemon to gain specific stats, as stated above, will benefit their overall purpose. Natures are another important part. Natures are needed of course in EV training to get those stats, but natures alone won't get you that high stat. Now, if you had no idea natures or EV training even made a difference, then you'll have a VERY, and I mean very hard time competing against players aware of this. Good luck in the tournament, and ready or not, I'll be competing.

I've always been a fan of the Pokemon Series, particularly the DS games-- I've always found it interesting in how they evolved the 8-bit style into an isometric 3D environment.

Anyway, getting SoulSilver soon, the wifi plaza looks really interested. Does it actually list upcoming events ingame?

Aw, man toy you should have come to me like 1-2 years back and i would have played with you, i just killed LZ online, but he had a full team of level 50s while i had 3 level 100 legendaries, so i don't think it was fair

ok looks as though some people are pretty annoyed at the fact that no uber pokemon are allowed + shinys
I dont see how shinys are banned they are no different to their normal counterparts.
and as for the uber ones i think that each participant should have at least one

and shinys I don't think should be an issue..but ubers yea..unless both people have ubers then I guess it's fair among them then..

oh, and on regards to the legendaries should not be allowed issue, i think that it is perfectly fair, everyone has a chance to get legendaries so everyone should be able to use them, if you don't have one, suck it up and go get one that way you have a chance!

I'll go ahead and make a seperate topic for this tournament... I'll arrange the brackets, since I have nothing else to do. If you'd like to participate, please post yes or no, then list your team, no ubers and there must be six Pokemon, if you said yes. And post your FC.

Uber is a Tier, like a level of power. Ubers are mostly Legendary Pokemon, or un-breedable Pokemon.
