I really want some of the Kanto pokemon, like Pikachu or Onyx, something from my childhood.

I can help you there, good thing I still have my Platinum...
Its one of the big problems with B/W, most Kanto pokemon are either missing or only available in the forest, IE: The place that dissapears unless you play and visit it daily.

My faves are Pikachu and Mew, but I'd really like two different gender Pikachus and evolve one to Raichu so I can mate them and make Pichu.

I can't give you a mew, I don't have one (and if I had done the event, I wouldn't be trading it).
As for Pikachu, two of em seems like a lot of trouble, you just need a female one.

Actually, if you mate with ditto you don't really gain any benefit of mating.

Rumor has it that Ruby is being re-released, like the others have. If it's true, I will buy a million copies. Even though Silver/Gold were my favorite, Ruby/Sapphire are a close second and the secret bases were the best.

Yeah I'm hoping Hoenn gets a re-release too. It's definitely my favorite generation, the Pokemon designs are the best plus you get to dive.

edit=> I also remember one of Pokemon's lead devs/CEOs saying something along the lines of "The Ruby and Sapphire are very dear to me," kind of hinting at some new titles.

I thought the gameplay was the stand out element. VS Seeker allowing re-fighting and trainers that had pokemon that got better before you fought them again, secret bases... it was just so good.

The pokemon... I had mixed opinions, some I really liked, some I didn't like at all.

I'm replaying ruby right now actually, at the second gym. While training my Tailow I cought an Abra. So now I have Mudkip, Butthurt, and Mr Lavoie.
