Re: Cosplay!
*resurrects thread because she can*
So day one of Chchgeddon (finally). I neglected to take photos because I was too busy drawing and reorganising my copics. Fortunately someone did take at least one of me (when I wasn't noticing). Forgot to add the white hemline and yellow collar, but no one really noticed. My wig wasn't pretty by the end of it. It's so tangled now.

Re: Cosplay!
Indeed. I cosplayed as myself ^^ Skirt I made before the February quake, but I only did the shirt in the days just before the con. The fleur-de-lis was a horrible thing to make and then attach. Maybe I shouldn't have done
Will post a pic of my humanised, feminised Perceptor costume (sans scope because I lacked time to make it in and I was exhausted Saturday evening) if a photo exists of it maybe tomorrow or something. I'm gonna be doing a photoshoot with some friends sometime this week if we have time (so I could end up having better pics.

Re: Cosplay!
How did you make/attach the Fleur?

Re: Cosplay!
I used cotton drill, same as my skirt fabric, hand stitched the edges (took a couple of hours, then machine-stitched it on to the top. The size and fiddliness of the appliqué was a source of frustration. I'd probably use fabric paint if I did this or something similar again.
Re: Cosplay!
seems a tad complex, might have been easier if you stitched the pattern onto a circular or square piece of black cloth, then machine stitched that onto the shirt?

Re: Cosplay!
My problem was with the appliqué itself, machining it on was easy, mostly because I could actually pin it to the fabric. Due to the narrowness of the petals, I was dealing with 5 mm borders at which point for me, it's easier not to pin in place so hand-stitching the edges so I wouldn't have an overly frayed fleur was the better option.
Re: Cosplay!
Yeah, I can relate to that: once had to make a pillow with a similar small pattern.

Re: Cosplay!
Now to start planning for next year's costumes. Though I have to figure out who to cosplay as. Doing a Nijika or humanised Drift is really tempting right now though I can guarantee I'll probably have changed my plans several times before the next con.
