Nobody said there weren't needles in Halo CE.

Also Tim, there are spikers in Reach. Brutres drop them all the time.

Yes, Brutes weren't in CE, but that was because they simply hadn't been created at the time. One could say that there were no Brutes on the ships that followed the Pillar of Autumn to Halo.

oh hey i knew they hadnt been created at the time, but i was just trying to provide an explanation story wise, i was just guessing that they werent believed to be holy enough to go to halo

Kat died because the radiation from the glassing disrupted the shields on the Mjolnir armors that she and the rest of the Spartans were wearing. Add the one-headshot kill rule that goes along with the DMR and the Needle-Rifle, and it makes sense how she died.

However, what is curious is that during the radiation reading on the top floor of the ONI building, both Carter and Kat had their helmets off. If the radiation amount was true, Kat and Carter would have died instantly due to radiation poisoning due to exposure. Consider that! :3

As far as the Brutes are concerned, they were not part of the partial battalion that Thel 'Vadam (Supreme Commander of Fleet of Particular Justice, future Arbiter) took with him to Installation 04 (Halo from Halo: CE). It is possible that they were left to finish the Reach conquest after the majority of human resistance was eliminated.

However, Brutes were deployed on Reach, wielding their signature Spiker and Brute Shot. Oddly enough, the Chopper, a Brute vehicle invented by an Engineer "Lighter Then Some" by reconstructing a Crop Harvester from the human colony Harvest, did not make an appearance during the Reach campaign although it existed at the time.

a Phantom flew overhead and a Field Marshall Zealot fired a Needle Rifle at Kat. The round went straight through her helmet, killing her instantly. Noble Six quickly caught her and dragged her body in the bunker while the rest of Noble team quickly returned fire.

Quite right. I think the discussion was about *why* the Needle Rifle was able to penetrate her armor in one shot, which I answered as thoroughly as possible. Thank You!

Eventually I'll get the Noble and Defiant map packs but for now things like Pokemon Black and the Bungie Battalion Backpack I'm trying have organised to be shipped to Australia.

Also meh, the distance to simply get up and change a disk is nothing to most people so why pay more just so you don't have to walk a few steps to change a disk? (Not writing that in a Hostile manner just simply saying it)
