Yeah, cuz you guys are totally being nice. You know what? This was started as a server for my friends, so please so one of my old posts if you have any problems. I opened this server up to TR to be nice, but now I see how you jerks respond to that. I'm fed up with your entitlement issues.

I don't care if you think I'm a jerk, I don't care what you think of me. You guys are so self centered and all about yourselves, it's not even funny. I don't understand why you think I need to be super nice to you guys.

Thoru, every time we go on the server, Dig, Tim and I all experience you and your little buddies being assholes to us.

Thanks for your input. We'll be fixing some of that, and we will be trying to create a more friendly environment. Please forgive the actions of me and my fellow friends. Colored names are not working at the moment, except for ops (Don't ask why, I don't even get it) and any mods will be taken into consideration. Once again, I apologize for the actions of me and my fellows, and I truly hope we can move past this moment.

I hope this clears a bit up, and I will be trying harder to behave more in the future. I honestly am sorry and have seen the error of my ways.

Since we're pointing out mistakes that have been made in the past, and since you cannot avoid future mistakes until you know what mistakes you made in the past, I'm going to add my grief here. This is not meant as an insult, I just want to point out what I found to be an annoying experience while being on your server.

> be a noob on the server who doesn't know much about the game, its mechanics or admin powers, building a treehouse
> get swarmed by three admins who fly around you taking on the forms of creepers, chickens and your own skin and username
> log out after trying to make them go away for a minute or two

> get randomly slapped by "console"

"Thoru why did you leave all the fence gates open after taking a look around in my underground base? I have animals running around everywhere now"
> "Deal with it"

"Thoru the last server restart made me lose a button on my wall
> have every free inventory slot filled with stacks of 64 buttons

> suddenly have 50 chickens run around in your underground home for no reason whatsoever
> start killing them to conquer your home back and get attacked by an admin who turned into a chicken

> admin stands in your aforementioned underground home with the appearance of a creeper, randomly spawning silver fishes that proceed to attack you, probably because he's bored

That's all I can remember right now, there might be more. And this was only from three evenings of playing on your server. It left quite a sour taste. I don't know what I have done to deserve a "Yeah, cuz you guys are totally being nice.", unless you consider building a treehouse and an underground home rulebreaking. You don't necessarily need to be super nice to us, but even ignoring me altogether would have been tons nicer than all the adminshittery that has been done to me these past three days.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want another apology since you already covered that. I just wanted to get that off my chest.

Alright, thank you for telling me about that and we'll be sure to do our best to avoid that in the future, although the disguised as a creeper thing may still happen, it's kinda just fun for the admin, not to try to annoy you. The chickens was because we were bored, yes, so we'll not do that again. I truely thank you for your feedback as we try to make the server a better place for you to enjoy building

OK, so slight change of plans:

1.2 is out, so no mods for a while, and no smart moving weekend, but we will still be doing skylands, I'll just be installing it as soon as I get home. So, feel free to enjoy the server as it is now, but it's gonna be a bit different! (I'm also going to be explaining my new rules to my fellow admins in about an hour. These rules being "Don't spawn mobs to annoy people, no power abuse, and be better people. I'll be happy to bring up anything more that is needed!)

UPDATE: Server updated to 1.2.2 (Huh, that's the BETA version MC was in when I bought MC)

It's sad that these rules for your admins are needed in the first place. Not doing things that annoy the players should be common sense.

Well... It was mostly started as a server for us to enjoy, and they took that too far, as did I. Hopefully, 1.2 will mark a new era of Thoruvania, a better era, a kinder era.

Ignoring the fact that my question was completely bypassed...
So if one would try and get back on Minecraft to mess about, on what version would I have to play in order to have a diverse selection of wildlife(and I don't just mean the sort of wildlife that is big and mean and wants to kill you) and sealife? Maybe some more diverse minerals and gems too. Through mods, of course.

The problem I have with MC right now is how empty the world is. The number of safe creatures isn't much, night-time is amusing but could be more dangerous(maybe even with not-retarded enemy AI) and when you delve underground, you know exactly what you're going to find on the level you're at when you hit some veins. If there's iron there, you'll find iron around you sooner or later.

If the world wasn't as limited as it is in wildlife and materials you can have, this game could be a lot better. That's what you got mods for though but they're usually stupid and refuse to work together without making the game suffer critical existence error. Not to mention they don't work with all versions and so on and so on.

Really helpful resource to find minecraft mods.

Off the top of my head, Mo's Creatures adds quite a few new mobs. And theres definitely some stuff out there to add more ores. Minecraftforums has a section set up for you to look around in.
