You just can't make this stuff up
Jason Russell, co-founder of the controversial nonprofit Invisible Children and the star of its ultra-viral fundraising campaign video KONY2012, was arrested yesterday in the San Diego neighborhood of Pacific Beach for masturbating in public while under the influence.
The San Diego Police Department says Russell, 33, was taken into custody after he was caught masturbating in public and vandalizing cars. Lt. Andra Brown also noted that he was under the influence, but did not identify the substance.
His overall behavior was said to have been “Very strange.”

Re: You just can't make this stuff up
They sound like the sort of people who go around saying "Don't you feel ashamed, there are kids STARVING in Africa!" while they listen to music on their iPhone(that their parents had to buy), afterward they go back home, chat online on Facebook/Twitter to their friends(who also think that starving kids in Africa is the saddest thing ever) and finally shout to their mom that they hate 'em when they're called down to have dinner.

It sounds like you've had a traumatic experience with American teenagers before, Leb.
Re: You just can't make this stuff up
Actually I've never met one in person. But thanks to the Internet, I can speculate on their behavior. It helps too that all teenagers are retarded and rebellious by our genetic programming, so there's very little variation.

Re: You just can't make this stuff up
A second clip of Invisible Children co-founder Jason Russell cracking from “exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutrition” surfaced this morning on TMZ, and it offers a better look at what exactly went down.
What the video lacks in public masturbation, it more than makes up for in buck-naked devil-cursing and furious finger-snapping.
Despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise, it seems Russell was never arrested nor charged. He was, however, hospitalized and placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold reserved for persons with mental disorders deemed a danger to themselves or others.
Russell’s family yesterday denied that substance abuse or alcoholism played a role in Thursday’s episode, while his wife Danica blamed the “attacks” against IC’s Kony 2012 campaign for contributing to his breakdown.

Re: You just can't make this stuff up
Sooooo, what his wife implies right now, is that he's in a clinic(or whatever you want to call it) for mental patients dangerous to themselves because he's mentally ill and dangerous to himself, rather than the substance abuse making him like that?

Every time you don't donate to this charity, a guy runs around naked and touches himself.

In case you care what Brief Reactive Psychosis is: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001529.htm
It's good to hear that they want to bring him back on track as soon as possible so he can continue doing what caused his psychosis.
"It's unfortunate that he wasn't as well equipped to deal with his new fame as say, a 13 year old girl named Rebecca Black."Danica Russell, the wife of Invisible Children co-founder Jason Russell, has just released a statement concerning the cause of her husband’s naked nervous breakdown, which occurred last week near SeaWorld San Diego.
According to Ms. Russell, the doctors who have examined Jason diagnosed him with a condition called “brief reactive psychosis,” which she claims is brought on “by extreme exhaustion, stress and dehydration.”
Her statement continues:The KONY 2012 mastermind will remain under observation for at least the next few weeks. His wife believes he will eventually resume his role with Invisible Children, but says the road to full recovery “could take months.”Though new to us, the doctors say this is a common experience given the great mental, emotional and physical shock his body has gone through in these last two weeks. Even for us, it’s hard to understand the sudden transition from relative anonymity to worldwide attention -both raves and ridicules, in a matter of days.
Despite vehement opposition from residents of Northern Uganda and a formal reprimand from the country’s prime minister, IC remains steadfast in its commitment to the heavily criticised Kony 2012 campaign and its “Cover the Night” demonstration, which is still on track to take place on April 20th.

- very insensitive and unfunny comment:
- "Hi, Everybody!!"
"Hi, Dr. Nick!"
*piles of money is sticking out of Dr. Nick's coat*
"It would seem to me, a real doctor, that the patient is suffering form brief reactive psychosis...(whispers)Yea, that sound legit enough but, It also vague enough for no one to question it. Okay, Bye everybody"
"Bye, Dr. Nick!"

Terrible Parenting Trifecta: Drunk Driving Pregnant Woman Left Baby in the Car to Go Get Pierced
Police in Houston arrested a drunk pregnant woman who was found sleeping off her buzz behind the wheel of an idling car around 2:40 AM this morning.
An HPD officer arrived at 5131 North Freeway to find 20-year-old Stephanie Irene Santana passed out in the driver's seat with her engine running and the front door open. Upon searching the car, the officer found several bottles of beer inside a diaper bag and some Xanax.
It was later discovered that Santana had earlier left her one-year-old girl alone in the vehicle to go get a piercing at a nearby tattoo parlor.
She was turned away by an employee who, after following her to her car, phoned the police. "I knew she was stumbling," said the employee. "I knew she was on something."
Santana, who faces charges of driving while intoxicated, endangering a child, and possession of a controlled substance, was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital. Her child was placed in the care of State Child Protective Services.

Artist Pays Tribute to Dead Pet Cat by Turning Him Into Flying Machine
After his beloved cat Orville was tragically run over by a car, Dutch artist Bart Jansen thought long and hard how to honor his late feline's memory. And then it hit him: Turn his taxidermied corpse into a helicopter.
After all, Orville was named after Orville Wright, so it only made sense to pay homage to the pet by having RC helicopter enthusiast Arjen Beltman attach propellers to his cold, dead paws.
Jansen dubbed the finished piece "The Orvillecopter," and unveiled it at the Kunstrai art festival in Amsterdam, where it is currently on display.
The cat-copter doesn't quite fly right, but Jansen hopes upcoming modifications will smooth out the ride.
"He will receive more powerful engines and larger props for his birthday," Jansen said. "So this hopping will soon change into steady flight."
