There are so many stupid things you just said in this post.

First off, Yusuf Tazim was just a character I played as to try and make Space Station 13 less generic between your meta blitzkrieging and Sebi's shooting everything with a pulse.

Secondly, I never took Yusuf and shoved it down your throat, saying "HURR DURR LOOK HOW FUNNY I AM WHEN I PLAY MINECRAFT NOW GIVE US MONEY SO WE CAN MAKE OUR OWN GAME AND MAKE THAT OTHER GUY LOOK STUPID".

It's pretty much exactly what they're going for. Capitalizing on their fanbase of 12 year olds and sticking a middle finger to minecraft.

Yeah... their ENTIRE fanbase is 12 years old, and they OBVIOUSLY hate Minecraft. They even said they hate Notch, right? Dude, it's a game, it looks similar to Minecraft., but are you honestly surprised by this? It's their origins almost. Look at the FAQ on Kickstarter and they described the differences. Also, not every game with blocks and building is automatically a MC clone. It's similar, but not enough that it's a problem

The problem is that they're similar. All we need right now is adventure block building/destroying sim #164358

Yogcast is too closely connected to Minecraft to not rouse ire and "It's a MC clone" comments. I'm not saying that it's not, the gameplay is similar, the first monster we see is a zombie(incidentally, same for Uberdark) and buildings are done by blocks.

It remains to be seen if any of the MC clones will have as much success as MC did though. I think it's sort of like Goblin Camp VS Dwarf Fortress. Different approach to the same sort of sandbox gaming, both with their own strenghts and weaknesses.

I'm not saying the game couldn't be good. It could be, depending on who is developing it. But I have a hard time seeing it reaching any potential if it's created in spite of MC.

If any block game is going to beat MC, by the way, it's going to be this sexy hunk of code.

1.) You hold to get rid of a block.
2.) You have to dig around, caves are usually found underground.
3.) The GFX are retro. Don't like it? Grab a texture pack.
4.) Dunno bout the sound thing, take it up with the forums.
5.) Punch block to death, get block, right-click to place block.
6.) That's the "survival" point of the game... Yaknow what, you're just acting like you don't know poo poo, aren't you?

Well obviously the video was meant to be a joke. The fact that he felt compelled to correct him on all that TWO YEARS AFTER THE VIDEO WAS UPLOADED shows he's obviously an idiot with no sense of humor. And since yogscast also has no sense of humor, he probably likes them.

So, you're basing this on the fact that this person couldn't take a joke, and that you feel that something you disagree with is "humorless"? Great logic

"Funny" is a relative term, I find Yogscast funny, you don't. That doesn't make it wrong. I find Family Guy to be not funny. Does that mean it ISN'T? No, it means I, personally, don't find it funny

V, that game you linked to reminds me of 3D Dot Game Heroes. Which reminds me I need to buy 3D Dot Game Heroes.

I guess after I beat inFamous 2, Mass Effect 3, the Back to the Future games, Dragon Age 2....
