Re: Terraria Thread 2
MW Games and COD in general, Halo Series, Doom Series, Battlefield, Quake series, Duke Nukem, Section 8, Area 51, etc
I've played a decent amount of FPS games, second to RPG/Sandbox actually.
My total experience states they are as demanding of knowledge as peeling potatoes.
Are there tons of games I haven't played? Yes.
Are there tons of game YOU haven't played? Also yes.
We base ideas on what we know, differing experience leads to different opinions.
And for the last time, Im not debating whether or not the FPS genre is good or bad, Im saying its a genre that doesnt require much intelligence to play, not play fps = idiot, but that fps =\= intelligence.

WOAH WOAH WOAH. no using COD and BF in the same sentance unless it's "BF is so much better than CoD.".

Online COD and BF hate. That's one word is important. The games itself are quite good, but the majority of the online community is rather... exhausting. But you've got that in almost all online games, so no biggie.
And for the last time, the games I mentioned require quite a bit of intelligence to complete, so your statement is still wrong.Mrsebi wrote:And for the last time, Im not debating whether or not the FPS genre is good or bad, Im saying its a genre that doesnt require much intelligence to play, not play fps = idiot, but that fps =\= intelligence.

There is no intelligence required in said games except ''shoot to kill stuff''

Re: Terraria Thread 2
I'm not bothering with this anymore but Cial stop trying to be edgy by hating on CoD, its actually a great game thats very fun to play with friends. Sure it's basically killing the FPS industry because the past few games have been rehashes, but its still fun. It's popular for a reason, and if you're going to hate on it at least point out actual flaws with the game.

Re: Terraria Thread 2
These games are pretty fun once you mute out the 12 year old kids on a mic. Why? Because people are legitimately terrible at them. And by people I mean the majority of those idiot 12 year olds. Or the people who scarcely play it, which is at least understandable. Some of those 12 year olds live for it. Battlefield is much more fun, though. Call of Duty feels the same (to me) at what... The seventh installment(?) as the second one did.

Tis' active conversation.
Really though, in regards to battlefield you don't even worry about muting 6 year olds. This is because of two reasons: BF is harder to grasp for small children than COD and even though the game is more teamwork oriented, nobody communicates.

Re: Terraria Thread 2
I play Team Fortress 2 instead. No one can yell at me there. :3
Also, I just loaded up Terraria for the first time in ages and proceeded to enter the bottom of the world where I was immediately accosted by lots of flesh, horror, and indescribable pain. That *thing* literally steam rolled me.

Re: Terraria Thread 2
Yeah, same problem here. The Harpoon, fire flower, and muramasa all get you murdered by the wall. Any suggestions?

Yeah, just depends on how much ammo you have to spare.

Re: Terraria Thread 2
Did it. Farming for more hellstone or using a minishark both seemed boring so I used the harpoon and fire flower in a more intelligent combo. Stand right up close with the harpoon and when I had mana use it all on killing the little strung eye things. Worked pretty well.

The symbols are supposed to denote anything that isn't dirt, stone, sand, silt, mud, clay or liquid. I have no idea how to turn them off.
Re: Terraria Thread 2
Try using a better map viewer, like Terrafirma.

I normally do use terrafirma or even tedit, however as of late terrafirma has been incredibly slow. This one was lightning fast.
