More like only near your house. But that's okay, that was a lame joke to begin with.

Actually, they fled because it was day. But Erik is right, they only do 1 damage to endgame players.

Re: Terraria Thread 2
Awesome. However if the public is voting, than the victor isn't chosen by game quality, but the quality of it's community at publicizing the voting.
Re: Terraria Thread 2
The fact that Terraria is a MMO game surely did help too since games like these have a bigger community.

Whatever, Bastion was getting to many votes for being an idiot game anyways.

Idiot Game:
A game with no particular point or logic, requires little if any skill or intelligence, and is pretty much mashing buttons until you win. Essentially: you could be a genius or an idiot, and still play it just as well either way.
Good example: Shooters.

Re: Terraria Thread 2
And Terraria takes more mental capacity than Bastion or shooters for what reason?
Re: Terraria Thread 2
Sebi, to quote the Duke: Eat Sh*t and die.
Bastion was an amazing game and it required you to think and make hard choices at at-least two points regardless of trying to pick your build. For any company the story telling in Bastion was unrivaled. I played it through in one sitting just because of how compelling the story was, it makes you care about the characters. The soundtrack was also the best soundtrack to any game I've heard. All this from an indie company.
And anyway Terraria requires less thought to play than most games, so if any game is an idiot game Terraria would be one.
This brings me to my last question, did you even play Bastion?

Re: Terraria Thread 2
Tom stop being a hipster. Bastion wasn't THAT good. Sure it was good, but the gameplay was subpar. It was literally the definition of linear (for how much I played, at least. I didn't finish because I torrented it and it broke).
Then again, Terraria has even worse gameplay, no story, audio is terrible, and is all around a worse game.

Re: Terraria Thread 2
I used to think shooters were extremely weak gameplay, then I found out one of my friends is an MLG Halo: Reach player, and I watched him play. Its so much more...

Re: Terraria Thread 2
It isn't.
And I never said Terraria was much better, but it does have the sandbox thing going for it.
Kinda like legoes.
Or that thing with the beads and the white plauque.

Re: Terraria Thread 2
I guess there is no strategy in war guys. Since war is what FPS's mostly are trying to simulate.

Re: Terraria Thread 2
Playing an FPS, any FPS.
Listen to a bunch of idiots talk about something.
Go shoot your way through a linear level, basically shooting till you are hurt, then hiding till you recover.
Occasionally there may be a quicktime event, slow motion sequence or scripted event (and by occasionally, I mean increasingly with every game, until theres more quick time then actual gameplay. Face it; game developers stopped making FPS games and started making FPS movies).
More idiots talking.
Next level.
If you are playing multiplayer:
Shoot guys and get shot, no point in hiding since you will get sniped the second you spawn.
Listen to real idiots yell for every little thing and spout racial slurs every fewminutes seconds face it, its all you will hear.
Yes, shooters really are intelligent, stimulating games.
