Everyone basically plays everything. I'm usually a Medic/Sniper and Tim is a Soldier/Scout. We usually try to get a Heavy to play with us so we can dominate.

Erik, when you join a server, check what classes are being played. There never needs to be more than 2 spies, and there never needs to be more than 2 snipers. Preferably one of each is fine.

If theres no medic, go medic. If theres no engi and you're defending, go engi. If theres 2 of anything on one map you usually shouldn't use that class.

I generally play Medic because apparently people worry about their KDR back in the day, so they wanted offensive classes rather than macro classes. Therefor, I filled that role most of the time.
