Are you going to play?
Re: AdventureQuest 3D
...actually, in response to an earlier comment, AE games did (a very long time ago) run on donations. You know, when I was just Artix messing around. The servers got shut down because he didn't have enough to pay for all that space, so he asked if everyone who played could donate $1 per month, and within a few hours, he got all the money he needed to keep the game open.
But I think the game's going to be great. I'm super excited.

Re: AdventureQuest 3D
That's a weird typo. *When it was just Artix messing around.
Once, when I was at the lab, Artix logged onto my account... some guy in Battleon kept trying to talk to me. I didn't want to have to type, "Hello, I'm actually Artix right now and can't talk..."

But seriously, the intro video was like 5 fps. It's being fully made in Unity with a dev team of ~5. Plus its played in your browser. This game will be HORRIBLE.
Tim you know the TF2 team is about 6 people
Any way, it could be good I guess, but it's hard to speculate with AE games since they're really hit or miss. Reserved a name. 3D modeling obviously takes a lot longer than making designs in Flash, though, so I would be interested to see if they can maintain weekly updates like their other games.
Wait though, is it a MMO or like AQ?
Re: AdventureQuest 3D
Its an MMO. Which TF2 isn't.

Re: AdventureQuest 3D
The principle is the same, though. They can make the graphics, and we ALL know they can make MMOs, put 2 and 2 together and, ta da.

OK, when I lose an argument, i leave. When Tim loses, he makes an illogical argument and then gets mad when someone proves it wrong

Re: AdventureQuest 3D
ALL of your arguments have been illogical!
You said it ran at 5 fps, when we all know it's your computer's fault for that.
You said TF2 wasn't an MMO (Technically it's an MMOFPS)

Re: AdventureQuest 3D
Tf2 is not an MMOFPS that is the stupidest thing ever.
And the guy who showed me the intro video has a gaming rig. Obviously 5 FPS was a hyperbole but it definitely wasn't smooth.

1:
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massively_multiplayer_online_game#First-person_shooterMMOFPS is an online gaming genre which features a persistent world and a large number of simultaneous players in a first-person shooter fashion. These games provide large-scale, sometimes team-based combat. The addition of persistence in the game world means that these games add elements typically found in RPGs, such as experience points.[citation needed] However, MMOFPS games emphasize player skill more than player statistics, as no number of in-game bonuses will compensate for a player's inability to aim and think tactically.
Neocron is sometimes considered the first MMOFPS, most consider it a hybrid of MMORPG and first-person shooter, with the later PlanetSide allowing 399 players all to fight together on the same map. Some may consider Zipper's MAG an MMOFPS as it allows up to 256 players to fight together on the same map.
2: Mine ran perfectly smooth on a non gaming rig

Custom servers, big maps. Next failure?
Re: AdventureQuest 3D
Skyrim was made into an MMO by modding. That doesnt make Skyrim an MMO.
But eitherway, we're both stubborn. If you want to continue feel free to PM me, but I dont want to shitpost on an unrelated thread.

Re: AdventureQuest 3D
I think that instead of arguing, we should talk about the game.
...and I think the game is going to be awesome.
