Force them to watch an episode of burn notice. They will see girls in bikinis.

Burn Notice rocks.

Burn Notice has nothing to do with this discussion. Burn Notice is a Mature program that is rated for exactly what it shows. AQW, however, deviates from its E10 rating quite a lot in terms of appearance.

With reference to Evan's comment above, the way AQW looks with its leotard/diva/cabaret uniforms, it's PG13+ in design at least.

I blame ESRB, they forgot to take into account the vioence and rated the game lower than it is, Now AE cant make the game for a mature audience without being sued by con-artists thus the only way the can keep teenagers playng is by doing this.
Or something...
I dunno, this discussion gives me a headache!

Most MMO(RPG)'s contain skin-showing armours, cuz its most boys natural reaction to click it- and its been proven more boys play MMO(RPG)'s than girls. As for the young players?- They won't notice. Unless they have NEVER seen a woman in a bikini on TV, at the beach, etc. Which is not very likely.

Look, this game is not burlesque kk?
Official burlesque is fishnets, high heels, thong, headgear and pasties, Ive yet to see something like that in the game!

Fishnets and high heels are abundant in AQW. Corsets and leotards are also part of the burlesque look, MrSebi. Look at most of the female classes, many of them are built around the leotard pattern.

Yeh but slightly similar is nowhere near actual burlesque, besides the term burlesque indicates a comedic performance in which scantly clad females are only part of the act.
Now, im not saying you are completely 100% wrong, but DO keep in mind that there are infact armours like you want in AQW, quite a few infact, so really, I dont understand why you are complaining!

This is because of miltonius.
Did you know that he has made 3 animation videos with some items of AQW?
they are a story, and if you think AQW show stuff...
anyway, only I have found the link to them...

Female Armors - Page 4 Empty Re: Female Armors

Post by Erik Fri Feb 26, 2010 11:03 pm

We need to look for the reasons ratings are given. ESRB would make it rated M-17 for having nudity of the "personal" parts AKA partial nudity. ESRB would make it T-13 mainly for blood, swearing, or types of fighting. E-10+ is given for fighting, but that is without blood, and possibly for other reasons, leading us to believe part of the reason the game got E-10+ could be the unnecessary skin showing.

AE is never going to open a 18+ server, because that would hurt their image. Badly. They would start losing younger players whose parents were concerned that older players would come onto the E-10+ servers, and spread bad ideas.

Altogether, we need to understand the ratings. Take a look at your game boxes, and look at "what" they are rated for. i.e. I got 3 game boxes out to compare the ratings of E, E-10+, and Teen.

Mario Kart Wii- Rated E for Everyone
Contains comic mischief

Sonic and the Black Knight- E-10+ Everyone 10 and up
Contains Fantasy Violence

Super Smash Bros Brawl- Teen
Cartoon violence
Crude Humor

Compare these with AQW. Fantasy violence is exactly what is in AQW, therefore it got the rating it needed. So you can't blame the ESRB for rating it the way they rate all games.

EVERYONE
Titles rated E (Everyone) have content that may be suitable for ages 6 and older. Titles in this category may contain minimal cartoon, fantasy or mild violence and/or infrequent use of mild language.

EVERYONE 10+
Titles rated E10+ (Everyone 10 and older) have content that may be suitable for ages 10 and older. Titles in this category may contain more cartoon, fantasy or mild violence, mild language and/or minimal suggestive themes.

TEEN
Titles rated T (Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older. Titles in this category may contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling, and/or infrequent use of strong language.

MATURE
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.

Title Publisher Rating Content Platforms
AdventureQuest Worlds Artix Entertainment Everyone 10+ Fantasy Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes Web Browser

Taken directly from the ESRB website.

Although I agree with their rating, I still believe it should be T given the amount of skin.
But that's not the point, they are putting unnecessary partial nudity in when it is... unnecessary.

That's a whole different story. At a swimming pool, you have to wear revealing clothes, its not like you're gonna swim fully dressed. I'm talking about UNNECESSARY PARTIAL NUDITY. Like, almost every single female armor having exposed thighs.

Would a person in real life wear something like that? A full suit or armor with the exception of the thigh?

Female Armors - Page 4 Empty Re: Female Armors

Post by Winnie Sat Feb 27, 2010 3:50 am

Hey Everyone,

I haven't posted on this topic yet, but I've read the whole thing. I've come to understand that nobody here has actually taken action.

So, I was wondering: Should I send this to Artix? I know he would care, and he would do somthing about it, becuase that's the way he is. If this many people care, He'll do somthing. Instead of writing a letter, shouldn't we just send him the topic? It shows the whole story. I'll put a little in at the beginning about why and such, but I think that this thread says it all.

Sending an email on Friday is suicide. There's no way he'll read it, and I'm not sending it over the weekend either. You have over the weekend to voice your views, and if I get positive input, I'll send it Monday.

I believe this really does involve the entire community, so that's why I'm voicing this way. I don't mean to offend any of your ideas from previous pages, but it seems nobody has taken action.
