Dragon Nest
http://dragonnest.nexon.net/
New mmo came out, it's currently in Open Beta. Its quite fun actually. Charon and I play it (not together, we chose different servers because we weren't thinking things through.)
But basically its got a combat system that requires you to aim and stuff. I find that makes playing casting classes very fun. There are four classes (sadly gender specific). Warrior, Archer, Sorceress and Celric. Those classes also branch off into 2 different classes each at level 15.
The dungeons are instance based with up to 4 people joining together and running through little maps (usually broken into stages that can't be passed until all enemies are dead).
So everyone should join it. It's kind of like Spiral Knights meets Vindictus only its more skill based than both of them.
BUT. There is a bad part. It's Nexon. Which means cash shops (so far all I've seen are aesthetic items so its not Pay to Win) and no Europe service. I know for a fact that Canada, North America, and New Zealand can play. Dunno about other places.
SO ANYWAYS I'm on the Gerrant - East server. Currently trying out Sorceress. It's a bunch of fun.
So go play it.
ALSO. Really important. It's a Nexon game, which means it will force Pando Media Booster on your computer. While it might sound like it boosts your media, it's actually boosting the downloads of OTHER PEOPLE'S media. Go into task manager, end the process tree of PMB.exe and then find it in your program files (I think its in a folder called Pando, just searching that up should find it for you) and delete it completely. It's basically a torrent program that runs in the background to help other people download Nexon games. It's a scheme to lessen to load on their servers.

Nexon is terribad. Cash shops erewhere, almost always gender specific classes in MMOs, and no Europe love.

Re: Dragon Nest
Sounds and looks cool but I think I have one too many 3D MMOs on my plate right now and another one just doesn't seem appealing. If it catches on I'll try it out though.
Also since when was Canada not a part of North America?

Maplestory, its essentially free unless you want a special hat, nexon cash can still be bought with gold. Multiple genders for each class, dozen classes, very good in Europe: they just released Big Bang.

This. This is factual.
It's a real continent.

But Maplestory sucks.
ANYWAYS to all of you other people, I meant to say that North America is allowed but South America isn't.

Whoever made that map mustn't know a lot about the size of Europe or the existence of Greenland. But they got the important things right.

The size of Europe is perfectly fine and Greenland never existed. Stop spreading lies.Darre wrote:DigDog wrote:<map>

Re: Dragon Nest
I looked for more mistakes and I found to many. This person created the worst looksokatfirstglance map ever.
Also , directed at Sebi, from the gameplays that I've seen it looks quite good.

Re: Dragon Nest
It's really fun. One thing I found out thats cool is you can get drops that are spellbooks (i don't know about warrior and archer) that will let you learn spells without spending points you get for leveling up.
Also sorceresses are awesome because they can use puppets.

Re: Dragon Nest
Any type of summoner class? Like, one that lets me bring up skeletons to do my work for me?
And how is the guild/friend system?

Re: Dragon Nest
I haven't checked out the guild/friend system yet. I'll look at that tomorrow.
Also I don't think there is a summoner type class. if you're a sorceress you can get puppets which make a shadowy thing to come out of the ground and swipe at the monsters though.
http://dragonnest.nexon.net/guide/class-guide Here are all the classes.

Re: Dragon Nest
Thats because it's Nexon. If you're looking for a dress up game, play AQW. Also there are quite a few cosmetic items in the cash shop.

No, I don't care about the armor. I mean the features, hair, eyes, etc.

Anyways I checked out the Guild system a bit, it seems pretty straight forward. You need to be at least level 9 and have a certain amount of gold to make a guild. Then you can invite people to it.
Also I'm reading up on the friend system. It says if you have friends in your party you get friend bonuses when doing dungeons. Which is cool.
