EDIT: I never tried to pirate Cave Story. They deserve the money, so I bought it for my DS after I played it for free on PC. TBH I'm fine with giving them money and the DS version comes with new graphics and extra functions.

No, I pirate because more big budget games are really expensive and if I play it and like it first I can then justify giving the money to the developer to show support.

Two things:

1. Some developers deserve the money for making a good game

2. Anybody who's bought something from Gamestop knows they don't just have all the games on the shelf. They're in the locked drawers by the registers.

It's not even that criminal. The company doesn't lose a sale, because I'm getting it from a 3rd party. However, if I like it and have the money, I'll buy it.

It's not like every pirated game is stealing, because it's not. The developer looses no money from people who download their game from a pirate site, because it was never a physical copy in the first place.
