Re: V2: Flesh and Bone OOC
Why is Monu not even trying to post a character first with a proposed set of equipment that will be reviewed by the GMs instead on stalling about what he'll get? That's what I did, and it passed with the mention that ammunition is scarce and thorwing knives are hardly effective on the Horde.
I think the only new equipment I would like to have throughout the RP is ammo, 'cause I like my current cop gear, and perhaps a Lightning Hawk magnum really later on, if Will survives that is.

Re: V2: Flesh and Bone OOC
Lightning Hawk magnum, I found out due to Google, is the Resident Evil name for Desert Eagle.
Let me say this: the larger the caliber, the worse you'll perform (after a certain point).
Desert Eagles are effective on TV and in movies, not in real life. Let's look at what its chambered in:
.50 AE - not effective at all. Waaaay too much recoil, little advantage against two legged attackers over others.
.44 magnum - Still way too much recoil. If that's your style, whatever, but it has very little advantage over .357 magnum. Followup shots are extremely difficult.
.357 magnum - acknowledged as the best pistol round for self defense in existence. The desert eagle is not the best medium to use it. It's bulky and not very reliable. Really a revolver round, and I wouldn't trust a semiautomatic handgun with it.
---
Now let's take a look at other handgun calibers:
9mm - Good, solid round. Usually holds a large amount of rounds/cartridges in the magazine (don't call it a clip, that is incorrect).
.45 ACP - Fantastic round, second only to .357 in effectiveness. Still maintains relatively high capacity.
.40 S&W - compromise between 9mm and .45 ACP.
The last four I would recommend, the rest I would not. 9mm, .45, .40 and .357 are good. There's also a .38 special, which can fire out of .38 guns or guns that fire .357, and it has reduced recoil than .357 but not much else.
---
Common Rifle rounds:
5.56 x 45mm NATO (referred to as 5.56) - NATO's version of the .223, guns chambered in one will fire both. US military caliber, used in M4s etc.
7.62 x 39mm - AK47 round, medium power, won't go into it that much.
7.62 x 51mm NATO - effective, good for medium sniper weapons. NATO's version of the .308, which can be swapped for 7.62 x 51 and vice versa.
---
Most other calibers are either ineffective or scarce. So if you want to use .50AE because you want the biggest bullet possible (bullet is the end part of a round or cartridge), be my guest, but you will have a difficult time finding more. Ulysses possesses a lot of types of ammo and reloads his own.

So there's my gun guide. If the rest of the participants could submit character sheets, we can get started soon.

Guess I'll stay with the handgun I currently have. I don't know much about guns myself, what I took was what what I found in open guides about police equipment.

Leb wrote:Personally I don't give a crap about people putting down their character appearance on a char sheet, as long as they're able to portray their character in the actual RP. It's more than enough information for me that "he's 40'ish years old, and an ex-soldier turned engineer after PTSD" and so on.
The character look is just sprinkles on the top, because a lot of delicious frosting and extra doesn't help if the inside is crap.
I'll have a character bio(without char look because screw you GM!) up by the weekend.
Yeah it's good if they can portray that in the RP but its also very helpful to have a paragraph or something in the bio that does nothing but describe the character.

I guess as far as it goes for OOC's, I couldn't give a crap knowing that this guy has a pudgy store clerk looking guy, and this one has silver hair and eyes that sparkle like the night sky.

I'm dropping out of this RP, realistically I never would have gotten around to posting anyway. I'm sorry CC.
Re: V2: Flesh and Bone OOC
Shadow Max has 14 ammo and you say that is scarce and you give me four ammo on a sucky gun.

Since Peregrine screwed us, I'll take over his character.
This will actually work out nicely.

Re: V2: Flesh and Bone OOC
It's not an option for you, DigDog.
Peregrine only got permission once he gave me special favors. WINK
Tom, you're staying too.
Cial gave me his char and it includes you, Dig. I'll have him post it here.

I don't think you realize how this whole internet thing works. You can't actually force me to make a post. Your threats are meaningless.

I'm warning you.
Consequences will never be the same.
The truth is I will cry. Even occasional posts are fine, but DigDog, you're too funny and talented for me to lose.
Tim- yeah, something like that.

Re: V2: Flesh and Bone OOC
I would be very interested, however at my current rate of visiting the forums it would be like my character has Narcolepsy.

You'll still have a higher rate of posting in this RP than me, so go ahead and sign up.

Re: V2: Flesh and Bone OOC
I think we'd be fine with everyone being able to pull off at least one post every few days. It's not really that hard either, you either sit down at some point and write it on one go or just put the post together on your free time when you have nothing else to do.

Re: V2: Flesh and Bone OOC
Cial's character sheet:
Name: Grayson
Remaining memories / history: Not much. He remembers bits and pieces, but only in flashbacks.
Current standing (where you are, your goals): Grayson isn't keen on moving the shields or taking them down. He believes that with enough people gathered together, they can get The City back to working order and find a way to fight the fog.
Clothing/armor/style: Ripped blue jeans, black boots, a bloodied white t-shirt and black vest with pockets. He also carries a red duffel bag with his supplies.
Physical Appearance:Grayson is caucasian and wears glasses with a small crack in the lens. He has medium-length brown hair that he keeps parted so as to keep it out of his eyes and brown eyes. He is also lean but not too skinny and has a fairly strong running ability.
Weapons / Abilities: Grayson carries a .44 magnum revolver with a scope and 6 bullets. He also has a short machete which doubles as a survival tool and weapon.
Other: Grayson has a dog named Evan, who is his best friend and only companion in The City.
